Door Lock

These are before photos of the door lock mechanism. There is no outside door handle on this car- everything is on the inside. So the door latch is operated by a pull cord attached to the chrome pin and there is a lock to stop the pin from moving. It was evidently safer in 1950.

  1. Who unzips their side windows to open the door these days, Gerry?

I assume you have both editions of the Porter book? Highly recommended, though whew, I just looked at the going rate on Amazon and had to sit down for a minute. Alibirs and ABEBooks look a bit better, but still.

  2. Well there is no choice on this beast except not even putting in the sidecurtains

No, I'm not familiar with the Porter book. I'll look it up. Thanks
