Dash
Before and after shots of the aluminum dash. It straightened and cleaned up well although there seven additional holes that will need to be filled to the left of the steering column hole. Two were added immediately adjacent to the proper holes for attaching the dash plate itself to the front cowl. The other five must have been added to deal with ancillary switches and the like. I don't think that this car has five possible things that could be switched on or off in total. Somebody got drill happy.

Hm - curious on the extra holes. All the extra wiring on my father's was less graciously integrated - http://www.flickr.com/photos/zachz/846064137/
ReplyDeleteZach,
ReplyDeleteI finally heard that you are a friend of a certain jail-bird from Des Moines. Also I understand that your Dad has an xk120 sitting in a garage in Des Moines? Sorry, I don't respond faster on the Comments section of this blog.
Yes, I believe we do share a certain acquaintance in common. It took him a number of years to shake is Alfa-itis affliction, and may or may not have been better for it.
ReplyDeleteThe 120 dash pictured above is indeed his machine.
Is indeed my father's machine. I'll learn to write some day. Happy post-thanksgiving.
