Front brakes

I was looking closely at the front brakes and notced a few problems. The first photo shows the left front brake hydraulic cylinder - this is the proper type but the shoes are from the rear axle assembly. The next shot is of the right front and shows the proper shoes but the wrong cylinders. Note the square stock that was welded onto the shoe to make this wrong cylinder work. And of course, the weldng was bad and it broke off. It was a very good thing that this car was not driven. Also to make the adjuster ( that's the part with the screwhead attached to the shoe) fit, the rear side was ground down and would caused the brakes to shudder something awful if they worked at all.
It may be time to think about changing this whole assembly to a disc brake conversion. I'm going to start looking for a MKIX front hub assembly to refit.
